colophon
How this site is made.
type
Everything is set in JetBrains Mono (variable, self-hosted, OFL-licensed) — UI, prose, and the art alike. One face, used with conviction.
stack
Built with Astro as a fully static site: plain HTML and CSS, view transitions for navigation, and near-zero JavaScript on content pages. Content is Markdown in typed collections.
the knot
The homepage art is a trefoil torus knot rendered as plain text: one
continuous tube sampled along rotation-minimizing frames, z-buffered
per character cell, shaded against a fixed light, split across four
color layers by luminance. No canvas, no WebGL — just text repainted at
up to 60fps, dropping to 30fps at rest and pausing entirely when
offscreen. Grab it and throw it; it keeps your spin. Or press
~ and try knot spin.
The previous art, an ASCII nebula of domain-warped value noise, retired
to /nebula — fullscreen, still live-tunable from
the terminal (nebula supernova).

principles
Nothing here is watching you. There's no analytics and there are no cookies, so I genuinely don't know who visits, and I'd rather keep it that way. It loads fast because it's almost all static HTML and a single self-hosted font.
